Why CME Trail Doesn’t Allow Gift Card Splits (Yet)

When you claim your reward with CME Trail, you’re offered a single choice between Visa, Mastercard, Amazon, Zelle, or another supported merchant. Once selected, that’s how your full reward amount is delivered.

Here’s why we currently don’t support splitting your reward between multiple formats:

• Operational simplicity: Keeping each reward to a single format allows for fast, reliable processing and minimizes delays or errors.
  
  
• Technical complexity: Splitting payments introduces significant complexity on the backend—and would slow down fulfillment.
  
  
• User demand: We’ve never had a formal request to split a reward across platforms, so we’ve focused on optimizing the single-selection experience.

What You Can Do Instead

While you can’t currently divide your reward between two cards, you still have multiple flexible options to choose from:

• Visa/Mastercard Gift Card (digital or physical): Use anywhere Visa is accepted
  
  
• Amazon Gift Card: Apply directly to your Amazon account
  
  
• Zelle: Send funds straight to your bank account
  
  
• Other merchant-specific options: Available by request
